What a waste of money .
Needle was doing occasional death throws right from the start . A numerical code reset would correct things for the first year . Many resets later the dial was dancing a lot , then the instrument gave up the ghost recently , no activity at all ."What a waste of money ."
What specifically is the issue? I have had them for years and have been very pleased with them.
Andover Norton . O.K.Why don't you contact the vender where you bought it from? He maybe able to troubleshoot the issue.

Order,18K? I got that out my last magnetic!
I'm pulling the e-Smiths Speedo as a project for tomorrow . Will replace it with the original magnetic instrument which worked fine , with the cable , which worked fine . Not a clue why I fell for the idea . Enjoy .To be fair, I've had Smiths magnetic instruments doing the death wobble at lower mileages.
Reminds me of the old Brit biker joke:
Policeman: 'Do you know how fast you were going, sir?'
Me - wags finger from side to side
Part of the character.I went back and installed my cable driven speedo but am going to pursue getting my electric one repaired. I made sure the cable was as free flowing as possible on the speedo and it still wobbles at higher speeds.which bugs me a lot.Hopefully I will get a response from CAI as I will put the e-unit back on once fixed.

I use Jewel Amber rocker box oil for my speedo gear box. It was recommended for some other lubrication stuff by this Jim guy who dabbles in Nortons occasionally. It doesn't dry out like a grease or drip out quickly like oil. It stays where you put it and is working well so far after a few years using it...
