I think the shift return spring is set wrong or tweaked or something on my trans. I shift up and the shifter gets stuck very lightly.

Is there a perfect adjustment of the shift return dohicky that the masses here can suggest? I thought I had it last time but I monkey with stuff so much I cant remember if it supposed to hug the stop thing or not touch it at all. I guess I should look at the manual before posting but ah well...

Check the fit of the ratchet plate [3] spindle in the carrier [10] and the condition of the O-ring [6]

Also check the gear indicator pointer [17] isn't rubbing against the end of the lever shaft.

I noticed my gearbox doesnt have the gear indicator. I like them but never noticed I dont have that on mine and the shell doesnt have any evidence of it ever being there. I think it was never there or it was machined off or something.

Hmmm. I remember someone not too long ago had a shell that had the numbers backwards and upside down. I kind of like knowing, I forget at my age.

Yeah mine doesn't have numbers or a lip or anything. It's like it never existed or was cut and polished off.

Did you get it from Norvil?

I find that strange, but then stranger things have happened.

I bought the bike from a guy that had it on consignment. It is a bunch of different parts really. I dont have anything matching but I do have a trans serial numbers starting with 14.... I never really looked into the history of everything other than if stuff is working or not!

I guess I need to start digging to learn the sorted history of all the bits and pieces of my bike!

I rode a bit more and I am too lazy to pull the cover and adjust the spring just yet. I noticed the sticktion is going away bu8t it stuck twice o nthe way to work. If it goes away I will not bother messing with it!

Mine was so dinged up that I contemplated grinding it off. I imagine I wouldn't have been the first.
