I have been contacted by a friend who was asked by one of his friends about a steel Interstate tank. Confusing isn't it. From what I can gather he lives in Canada and would like to be able to go on a long ride without worrying about gas.
Are there any sources for new steel interstate tanks? I see that Burton Bike Bits in the UK has them just not sue about others.

I bought one of the steel interstate tanks from the same place as the noted link above after reading his thread. I am pleased with it, however mine was not quite as "perfect" as his was. It arrived with a small dent and there was some hammer marks from the tooling (hand tooling over a buck?). Still all-in-all I am pleased with having a steel rather than fiberglass tank and it gave me an opportunity to attempt some blocking and painting. It all came out OK for obviously amateur work and from across the garage it looks OK. I was in a hurry to attend the rally up in Quincy as I live only 70 miles from there. It was finished in time by about 3 days but I became ill and then couldn't attend anyway.

Again, thanks to all who have replied. I have forwarded the information on.
Told him to join the group.
