The steel bush in the inner gearbox cover (where the kickstart shaft passes trough) has a very loose fit in the inner cover.
The bush is actually able to rotate in the cover with the kickstart shaft.
I think that this bush should have an interference fit in the inner gearbox cover.
Have any of you have seen this problem before? and what will be an acceptable repair method ?
Just locktite the bush in place or making an oversize steel bush? opinions please.

First question is why is it loose? Has the bushing wallowed out the inner cover or is there cracking in and around the bushing boss on the inner cover?

Is there a good running surface between the bushing and kickstart shaft?

It will take some judgement on whether the inner cover is serviceable but if it is, I concur that a Locktite Bearing Locking compound (Green) will likely be your best course of action.

Ok, thanks for your input, the inner cover is in good condition, no cracks or other visible damage.
Just the steel bush is very loose, I will apply some green Locktite to fix the bush in place.

Knurl to O.D. This will take out the slop. Then glue it in with goop of choice.
