Last week, I ordered parts from Steadfast Cycles, located in Cinebar, WA (purportedly). I received the confirmation email regarding the order but since then I have not received any update or response to my email or telephone call. I'm just wondering if I should give them some more time or contact my credit card company to try and reverse the charge. Since my two mainstays retired this year, Fair Spares and Old Britts, I'm trying to find someplace new.

I've never purchased from them but they've been around for a long time and I've never heard anything negative about them. With today's situation regarding mail delays I'd be patient.

I've purchased items from them years ago. Never had an issue. Did you reach out to them for a tracking number?
It's the time of year. Mail is backed up. My package from a order i placed last week from a different is as of now 4 days late.
I checked tracking today and is in the next province over from me

I used them a while back, and had the same deal. But the parts did show up. They really need to get with it on their customer response issues. They do not send an email with a tracking number, for instance. I buy elsewhere. Just bought a bunch from Andover direct. Worth it if it's a fair amount of parts. Klemph's sells Andover parts, even though they will not sell to him direct. I keep hoping someone in the states will carry a full line of parts.

I bought some petcocks on eBay from them a couple weeks ago but they cancelled the order and refunded me. Why advertise something that you don't have? It was a waste of time so never again with them. There are much better Norton vendors out there.

I've bought a lot of parts from Steadfast over the years including some fairly recently and have never had any trouble. Almost always they have arrived in a few days. I've always used their Ebay store and have been able to use the Ebay tracking. I think Steadfast only deals in aftermarket parts. I used to use British only for NOS and used parts. Now I mainly use Dotler on ebay for those parts.

His warehouse and residence are in Cinebar, WA. Been there a few times. He uses snail mail exclusively for the free shipping. I can drive or ride there in 2 hours, but it takes a week to get shipments of parts. Never had an issue as long as I don't pay any attention to pricing, and I'm not in a hurry. Some items like gaskets for example are 2X what Andover Norton sell them for. Choose wisely.

Shipping ANYTHING, by ANY carrier, right now in CovidChristmas season, you'd certainly better be well prepared to WAIT, sometimes twice as long as usual, or MORE, to get your stuff.

I can give some insight to Steadfast. Occasionally I work there on a bike he's taken in, currently a 1950 Triumph. He sells parts for several Brit models and you can imagine the headache involved with stocking all the inventory and shipping. They (husband and wife) work long hours keeping everything up to date. They are the only two employees. There are two teenage kids and they are involved in plenty of family things including visiting family in the Los Angeles area. I was last there in mid November and he informed me that I would not come back 'till sometime in January. The same happens in the summer when they get lots of visitors. Currently I have his Dominator in my garage needing many things including new brake shoes and bearings. Have not been able to reach him either by phone or email. My guess is that when they go on vacation they do not to deal with business. Can't blame him really, one of the benefits of being your own boss.

Thank you for the responses, I appreciate everyones input. This is a small but very supportive community that watches out for each other. Based on the responses, I will definitely give the company time to fulfill my order. Although, going forward, I would like to see improved frequency of customer communication. If the order is fulfilled, I will be happy to order from them again.

I’ve ordered a lot of stuff from them over the years.
I’ve never had an issue.
I did just look at an eBay item they had and it mentioned they were away until today.

A number of years ago I purchased a set of clutch plates for an Atlas. They were so tight on the hub and
chainwheel that they wouldn't slide at all. I contacted Steadfast and was told they would look into it, suggesting
that my clutch components were sub standard after market parts. Never
heard back from them. I sent the clutch plates back to them for a refund as not suitable for service and they was
credited the cost MINUS a very large restocking fee. They ignored all further communication. Of course I never
purchased from them again. Oh, I did buy a new set of clutch plates from A/N. They fit perfectly.

As a follow up, and most importantly, to be fair, I just received an update from Steadfast. It was explained to me that their website was supposed to indicate that they were closed during the week my order was placed but there was problem with the site. I was advised that my order would ship this week. I definitely never intended my post to be a bashing of business, I hope that is not how it was received. I'm just looking for another reputable US supplier since my other two have retired this year.

For a good all around supplier, I use Waldridges out of Ontario. Often the exchange rate works in the US buyers favor.

Their annual sale is happening right now too. I placed an order on the 10th and it arrived today the 20th. Not too shabby for a cross border order.

ive bought stuff from them over and over and never had an issue.

once i needed a CEI nut for an old triumph brake plate. they wrote back saying that they didnt have the exact one i wanted, but they sent along one which would work. a month later i received the correct part unexpectedly in the mail. i have zero complaints about them.
