Anyone know if this stuff is any good. A friend told me about it and swears by it. He doesn't have a British bike though. I live in California and have a sealed fiberglass tank. I want to make it last as long as possible. Has anyone tried this stuff?

Star Tron Fuel Treatment

I've not tried this but tried to make sense of it. Usually organic enzymes used to crack ethanol as found in yeast or people. Alcohols like ethanol enzymatically break down to aldehyde and ketone. These can bind-react with water to from hydrates that suspend water from layering or coagulating. Aldehyde is combustable, Ch3ch2cho + 7.5 O2 ----> 3 Co2 + 3h2o. Ketones are similar to acetones, water misable and a good combustor and known solvent for resin tanks. Acetone is used to help mileage by some, so maybe ketones could too. How anyone could monitor the claims w/o lots of testing I don't know. Just what is it your friend swears by using this additive? Try a few tanks of it and get back to us. I'm interested in the drop in fuel cracker catalyst packs, as makes some chemical sense to me in non alcohol gasoline.

StarTron has been around in the marine industry for decades, within the past couple years they saw a huge untapped market for themselves (powersports industry) and have proceeded to market it heavily. Works fine for storage, water emuslification, etc. as does Sta-Bil. As for saving your glass tank, I'd go with the sure bet of AVGAS if at all possible. I have it in stock.

AVGAS or "race gas" is fine as long as you don't ride more than one gas tank away. Recommend keeping gas in a fiberglass tank only while you are running the engine. Drain it out at all other times.

I have been draining my tank. The bike is work in process and does not get ridden much yet. I am sealing the tank very soon. I think I will still drain it after every use but seems like a real chore. Is this really neccessary?
Non ethanol fuel is not available in my area. When all is said and done, I will be looking for a steel tank. Rumor has it that ethanol will increase to 15% in my area soon. Now it is at 10%. It certainly makes me wonder about my old 1977 Camaro and my HD. I would be a buyer if this stuff really works.

I had my tank sealed. It works fine. We only use Chevron gas. It supposed to have less ethanol. So far its good. I just wanted it to last longer, plus I heard that ethanol is hard on older motors. I will try the Star Tron out. It said that you cant over-add it.

Booze in fuel is a highest level criminal act against all of humanity and our motor craft. Its ridiculous to have to drain tanks after each use and grantee there will be times that's impossible, d/t appointments to keep or injury, breakdown etc etc, so definitely expect and plan on holding corrosive and water layering fuel in tank for days or weeks or seasons. Novalac epoxy like Caswell's kit is about best hope to preserve fiber tanks but needs really good half way dissolving resin and crud cleaning with acetone then through heating drying prior to coating thick with a couple coats inside.

Here's a disscussion on scope of Aviation gas. If in rural area that allows large storage tanks, like me you can order up 100's of gallons at current prices to savor as it spikes everywhere else. Of course out on hwys we are all exposed to boozed fuel crime.

If only boozed gasoline available and must drain, what do ya recommend to make this a simple tempting easy to do no tool procedure? Just ugly shove on hose nipples or 2ndary drain taps below the tank taps?
