Hey Guys,

Sure that I have seen a thread on this but cannot find it. I continue to have staining on the exhaust of my CR. I have tried a couple of metal/chrome polishes with no luck.

Which polishes are you guys using for your exhausts?

Thanks.

Solvol Autosol and wire wool. I think you have the same product but under a different brand name.

When I get time I will give my headers a wet'n'dry rub down as well to get a better polish.

I was able to remove most of my stains using NeverDull, but there is still a faint trace on the oldest ones. I've tried a couple of other products and nothing has worked better so far.

How long does the headers stay free of blueish staining if polished?
In my eyes the polishing makes only sense if you like to sell the bike or you won’t ride it anymore...
Without doubled walls the blue will come back very quickly, doesn’t it?

Not talking about the blueing Raphi, love the blue colouring of the pipes. It is other staining and general discolouring. The bike is regularly thrashed to within an inch of its life chasing my mates on their matching MT 10’s; unfortunately I only have one point left on my license! She runs beautifully since I opened up the standard exhausts and changed the ECU, revving cleanly.

Thanks Contours, I will give NeverDull a go.

I've tried over the over priced Blue Job. Better off getting the real thing.;) It faded the blue maybe 40% but also dulled my pipes where I used it.

I bumped a few threads for you to read Steve. Good luck. But if you get The English polish you wont need luck. Promise.

Everyone is swearing by the harpic max cleaning gel you buy from the supermarket, put it on the exhausts and work in, leave 10 mins and hose off, down pipes will be like new

The early headers were chrome - short stubbies were always stainless - I think they switched to a fully stainless system some time in 2014

I can see trying to remove oil stains, but leave them blue. Who cares? That's what heat does. Don't like blue pipes, get a Harley with shrouds hiding the actual pipe.
