Speedo - Tacho Wiring Connections

I am finishing off the wiring on my '74 Mk2 Roadster restoration and can't remember where the wiring for the back lites of the speedo and tacho connects into the main wiring system.
Two options as I see it: The wiring (NG) from the instruments can connect to the regular wiring inside the headlamp shell or into the main loom under the fuel tank.

Thanks Les. I have since worked out that my wires from the instruments were connected to a NG wire under the tank (twisted together). I figured this by the length of the black sheath which was way too long to just go to the headlight.

Electrically it doesn't matter - just connect to Brown/Green. However, those sockets pull out easily so in the headlight shell is better as they turn with the headlight shell.

I'm not sure, but I think they may have changed over the years as I've seen them done both ways on what appear to be OEM harnesses.
