Where is the best place to get a Veglia Speedo repaired in Britain?
Mine's just gone bonkers, reads 200mph on the open road (I wish).
It has only done just over 11000 miles.

I use http://www.speedorepairs.co.uk/ but they only repair Smiths not Vaguelia clocks. I have Vaguelia clocks on my 850 MK2A but the speedo reads 50 mph when the GPS tells me I am doing 40 mph, hence I have a pair of Smiths clocks waiting to rebuilt when funds allow to replace them.

Just down the road from me AE Pople, Frimley. He advertises in the Classic mags. Good work and not that costly though I do repair my own when needed. Veglias are quite simple, often the rotor drum separates from the needle and sometimes the drum bearing goes away and the rotating magnet clouts the drum, dragging it around to 200 ish!!.

Thanks for the answers, I have E mailed him, probably hear back Monday.
Don,t know if ot has any bearing on it, but my trip has fallen out, probably while I was out for a ride.
Irritating really, only a few weeks good riding weather left, & the bike is going really well.
Would have a go at it myself, but I might ruin the the pressed on ring.

I think that Pople probably will look at Veglias. He took one in P/Ex from me years ago against repairs to a Smiths.

Running without a speedo's not the end of the world. Not as bad as no tacho :)

Hello!

This man helped me out with a replace Veglia tacho.I sent him mine, which was broken,
and I recieved a restored one from his shelf. It runs nice and I´m happy!
This is Atlanta Georgia, but worth a try!

Shouldn't do as it's separate from the speed measuring part of the instrument. I guess the tiny circlip holding the pressed gear fell off if the whole shaft disappeared south? Yes I can't nicely replace the bezel, that's what Pople did for me. Unfortunately my speedo needs work every 3-4 years so I r&r the bezel myself. Doesn't look too good though. Funny that my tach has never been a problem in 25k miles. Probably will now!! While it's in pieces get him to look at the worm drive shaft from the speedo section to the trip/milometer as they often get loose in their bearings and pop out one end. Needs a small piece of bent tin strap glued over the shaft like a big end cap to stop it coming adrift.
