Hi There!

I apologize if this has been asked before. I did a search but couldn't find anything.

I have replaced my speedometer with one of the new Smiths electronic speedos and I drive it off of the front wheel. I love the clean look without the speedo cable running down to the back wheel. However, I still have the speedo drive on there. I would love to remove the speedo drive and all of the washers and spacers back there and replace it with one stainless spacer. I have a machinist friend who can make the part, but he needs the dimensions. Would anyone know the width that this should be to eliminate all of the existing parts? Thanks!

Since you have all the parts, why don't you measure the stock spacer and the depth of the speedo drive unit. The tolerance isn't going to be that critical.

If your friend is a machinist he will have the proper meassuring devices to meassure it accurately and a simple job to machine a spacer to size.
