Howdy all,
On my last ride I unfortunately was imformed by an unknown person, at the lights,...
" Hey mate, one of your blinkers (indicators) fell off about a couple of Ks back, I was trying to get up along side you
so I could let you know, but I couldn't catch up. F#*!!! that thing goes."
Heheheheheheheehehe.
Any way, upon inspection, the bracket had brocken, and yes the R/H rear blinker had gone.
I found these at a local Bike shop, Harley (bullet type) I believe, not plastic, seem to be OK.
Thought they looked allmost British.
And also, due to a lower back problem, have decided to go for some higher bars.
They are comfortable, for me, and I had a pair of mirrors in stock, that do the job, (if you look under your elbow).
A little catch for young players such as I....
The longer bars definately vibrate more.
I will try some weights. (in the bars, not the Gym).
I just realised what I wrote,... "weights in the bars".... Beer makes good weight lifting practice, (in a Bar or at home),
That might be the answer. More practice.

Sorry about the Yammy T shirt, still waiting for my Xmas present from the States.
Good riding and hey, have fun out there.

Keg Hurling for upper body and arm strength . You could actually try Semiphor Indicators , theyre retractable . :D

I've given away a half dozen signals and stems if ya don't count the 4 LED kind but still a couple more spares to go as I've sworn off em but finish wouldn't match a beauty like yours. They should of mimicked the Asian bikes with rubber stalks.

Hi, interesting getup for the rear indicators, looks good. Is it roadworthy in Australia, I suppose it is?

Are yours the same as these ones on eBay?

I am thinking this idea would look good with the manufactured old britts tail light for my Norton... any mounting problems? where exactly did you bolt them on?

G'day Pjr,
Well they look very similar as far as the body goes, but mine have an aprox 3/4 inch long
mounting post which allowed them to be mounted to a straight bracket, off the inside of the top shocker bolt and
still protrude enough to be outside the line of the seat.
I saw them on Oz Ebay, (Melbourne based seller), $39.95 pr., but bought them here in Adelaide once I had seen them up close.
If you do this, leave enough room for sliding the seat on, and easy access to the knob.
I would like to take credit for this set up but the idea was posted here quite a while ago.
I notice that the rear guard doesn't seem to vibrate as much now.

If eastern rubber (Hic!) is anything to go by they perish within 10 years  as they did on my rice burner, so not a good long term investment in the long run.
The rear indicators look to be obstructed from view from any half asleep tin box driver that is following you. just a comment.
Due to crashing on diesel oil, black ice, e.t.c; I found the best solution is to use shorter indicator stalks and mount them in other places where they will not be the first thing that gets wiped off if I drop the bike.

Having had to fit indicators for rego and WOF(road worthy) reasons , I used nylock nuts on the inside fit up of the stalk as my first ride out , right rear stalk rattled off and was only held on by the wire until I noticed it hanging in the breeze.
Nylocks are the answer
Regards Mike

A fine steed AC!

I like the finned tappet covers- some are good some less so - yours are great. Can I ask where you got them and if you have a points cover to match?

But I really like those mirrors- where did you source those? Any chance of a shot of how they fit/clamp to the 'bars?

Thanks mate

G'day crusadersports, Unity Equipe sells the finned tappet covers and as to the points cover???????
Foxy

Hey Crusader, thanks for that,
The tappet covers were on the bike when I bought it but they do come up on Ebay occasionally.
No, don't have the points cover but they too come up. I'm not a huge fan.
The mirrors were "in stock", left overs from old dirt bike days. They are still avaliable here in Oz.
