Glad to see all your hard work paid off! What a great tribute to your father!

Congrats!

Incredibly well done guys, and thanks for sharing it all with us. I'm sure your father had a front row seat to watch it all take place. :D

Congratulations on your land speed records Paul.

That was a great video, I found myself tucked down in the fairing with you. it sure looks like a lot of fun.

Very well done team!

Just curious, did you run the same gearing with and without the fairing, and if not, by what percentage did you alter for the different set-ups. Also, in the timed mile what was the entering and exiting rpm for both faired and unfaired runs? Thanks.

We used the same gearing.

Both records were made using long pipes and conservative tuning at 1000 rpm below peak power.

After we switched gearing and pipes to the high rpm setup we found out we had a fuel flow problem and burned a piston at around 130mph naked.

We will be back.

Entry and exit speeds were not a lot different. Jim

Bloody awesome. Your in a league like Bert Monroe, using 50 year old machinery to beat the modern stuff.

Good on yer mates.

Sir Eddy's Rocket is in the record books!

500-MPS-PG, 123.283, Paul Bilton-Smith, Norton

Many thanks goes out to Jim Comstock @ Comstock Engineering for hours of spintron work sorting the issues with the valve train, tuning, final engine development and hours making Horse Power on the dyno in order to insure the Rocket was ready to set out to break records.

It doesn't get much better than this. Happy Valentines Day!
The wife made it to the mail box before me a couple weeks ago and kept them for Valentines Day. I was wondering why they hadn't shown up yet.

Many thanks to everyone that was involved to make this happen! Love you Pops!

Thanks Ken, dream come true, not too many times that happens in life.

I need to come see you and get that close ratio tranny for 2017!

Definitely amazing that these old crocks can still set records. Congratulations!

We had an incredible week at the salt this year. The entire family was present along with our Norton master motor builder and turner Jim Comstock. Many runs were made, 16 or 17 in 5 days. Chased it everyday and never quite were able to find the speed as we did when we set the records in 2016. When the motor went in 2016 it took out a ton of parts and Jim spent hours of machining fixing the barrel, head, cam, rod, pistons and valve train damage. We had a new build this year with a new cam with more duration and slightly modified combustion chambers adding more volecity. Many thanks to everyone that supported the efforts again this year, Jim Comstock and Eric Gustin have been the link to the success. My father was looking down on us and we where able to ride together all week once again. Thanks to Scooter Grubb for shots posted on his website.
I posted a video on one of Jim's bike build forums and thought I should keep it rolling on Sir Eddy's Post.
