So because of that, the customer base is extremely valuable to all of us that have dedicated most our lives to offer product and services for these great machines. So don't minimize the importance of issues like these just because they aren't at the level of international mega organizations. Google doesn't make any parts for the Commando that I know of so I could not care any less about them.

Selling a few more parts this month may mean the difference between being in the Black versus Red. For many, it's a roller coaster ride.

As far as marketing, I agree that it would be good to have a separate area for vendors where we could introduce and promote new product we have made available. That said, there is no such sub area at this time so we will go on the general forum when we want to share something that may help someone out with their bike. Don't forget that the small companies involved with these bikes are a big part of figuring out how to solve the issues you mention. There are guys that have shared an incredible amount of knowledge on this forum over the years never asking for anything in return other than wanting to be considered when you need something they may have available to sell

I would be EXTREMELY disappointed if Norton Commando specialists did NOT use the classic Commando forum to share news on new products and offerings for classic Commandos.

In fact I’d go as far as to say that if they weren’t ‘allowed’ to do so, then what the heck is such a forum for ??

I want to learn, and to keep abreast of new offerings, new solutions to problems, new improvements, special offers, etc.

So do keep postin’ your new stuff Matt !

But oh dear it surely is. Anybody who makes, or tries to make, "stuff" for our
bikes is a hundred times braver than Elon Musk going all in on his last attempt
at making a Falcon fly.
 
I agree with everyone that this should be a technical based forum. My first post about this reed valve sump breather was purely technical. I wasn’t sure I quoted Leo Goff correctly (or if I should be quoting him at all) so I deleted it. Somehow Comstock reposted it (not me). I talked to Comstock yesterday and explained that I developed the Norton sump reed valve breather 30+ years ago. He chooses not to believe me. I'm ready to move on to technical.

There you go Jim That's what we call taking the heat and changing the subject. I looked out side this morning and the sun come so the world moves on.
 
Well, my Norton connection to Glen Curtiss is the museum I visited during the the Endless Rain Rally in PA way back in 2002 ( I think)
A really great facility that displays the history of the airplanes and is actively involved in restoring them.
I'll leave it that......
