Hi. I have a Commando Roadster mk2a 1975 and the left hand side panel is hinged from a bracket that is bolted next to the air box. Please see picture below.

Side panel bracket

Can anyone tell me if this is a standard way of fitting the panel or is it a made up effort by some previous owner.

Thanks
Neil.

Made up effort, but looks like it will work ok. are you sure your bike is 1975?

i have the same modification on my bike
was told by original owner that he lost the side cover and mk 3 covers were the only ones available
so made bracket to fit

Hello. My bike has had the black box air filter removed at some point and an earlier filter assembly installed in its place with the filter mesh surround. As for side cover bracket, I take it the previous owner must have changed things around a bit, so I will just use what has been changed.

Thanks for the reply’s

No it isn't correct. A Mk2A has the airbox like the one used on a Mk3. The bracket is mounted to the airbox on those.
If you want I can take a picture or two for you?
