side cover question

All this side cover talk brings up a question I've had for a bit. My bike is a 72 combat. It has a fiberglass roadster tank with the cap that has hinge on the front which makes me think it is correct. The side covers however, are the larger type that go infront of the frame tube. Are these from a different model? Not a big deal, just curious. Sorry no pictures as I'm using my phone and haven't taken the time to figure out how to attatch them to posts yet.

Yep. Same covers. So its safe to assume that they are not roadster correct. But then again maybe it was an interstate that now has a roadster tank. Im going to replace the tank and was wondering if I should get covers too. My tank has seen better days and would be better off as wall art.

I'm sure someone would be happy to trade a good Roadster set for yours.

IDK, I like the way it looks. Might go with a manx tank for it, so it wont be "correct" any way. Still deciding which way to go.
