Shower of mk 14 micro digital sparks .

Just fired it up , first press on the magic button .
High R. P.M's , say 3000 with backfirings .
Pulled tank .
Amals carb splitter junction box . Left side popped out of place . Runs normal . Never liked the 1 into 2 plastic junction box . Sounds good and oil returning to tank . A rattle , front . I'll try again . Lovely sunny day on the street . Gin and tonics .

Oil tank junction at chain oiler . I had sealed it up forever with a tight internal bolt with a hose clamp . I'll have to remove tank to investigate .

That can happen with the 2:1 splitter and care is needed to set just enough free play and route nicely.

But they are the best option.

The ONLY Brit twin I’ve ever had that came close to living up to the ‘carbs need synchronising regularly’ legend was a Bonnie with western bars and twin cables.

I am convinced that the turning of the bars and the leverage of the western bars stretched the cables slightly differently. That can’t happen when there’s only one cable !

IMO, with a splitter, the carbs do not go out of synch (for a very long time) unless something else has caused it.
