Alright, with winter approaching in the Norther Hemisphere, bikes will be taken off the road and put in the garage for the long sleep. Invariably, some of you will not be able to leave well enough alone and start messing around with things.
There are plenty of build threads here, but it would take weeks to sort through them all just to find pics of the mechanical or even just cosmetic ingenuity among our forum members. Let's pool everything in one thread to show off your skills, ideas (good or bad! we've all got to learn somehow), and creativity involved in owning our beloved Nortons.
My reason for this is that I'm NOT a great fabricator or mechanical guru, I'm looking for ideas, inspiration and knowledge. I've been building a XT500 streettracker and that has been my first exercise in fabrication, including everything from simple brackets to learning how to weld.
When I installed my Mikuni on the Norton, I had to find somewhere new to mount my ignition barrel. And now, having not properly secured my regulator and suffering the consequences for that, I'm making a new bracket for that too.
So, whether it be to show everyone how clever you've been, or ask for quidance with your efforts, show us what you've got.....

Oh boy, I've got a boat load of good and bad Ideas, working and failed Ideas. Here we go......I have more, just need to find the pictures.

Cool! Bwolfie's got the right idea here, just photos of what you've done with a quick description so we're not scrounging through ump-teen pages of text. Kinda like a quick reference guide and encyclopedia of ideas and just plain neat stuff. For example, I saw a solution for ignition key mounting a while back, it was basically a half height airbox backing plate with some switches built in and I think the Podtronics was mounted behind it. For the life of me I can't find the thread now and would love to see it again.
If we require more info on the bit in question, we can ask the poster for a link to their original build thread, or something like that.
I'll post a couple pics of my hack jobs later, like I said, I'm no engineer and am very much at the learning stages of making up my own bits and solutions to problems.

Is that a WD or a Segate screw rethreader?

Love that solid state chip thread chaser and tire iron combo Bill but don't ya need at least two to work the counter torque?

More Ms Peel features to come.
