Shorei battery, do they last???

Li batterys require a little higher voltage to charge at a fast rate than lead acid. You will want all the alternator you can get. Jim

Boeing had a Li battery power handling fire problem that's hopefully solved now.
Lead chemistry is more a surface corrosion reaction while Li ions mostly infiltrate inside electrode, sort of like water in rock cracks that freeze and thaw. IIRC Boeing's issue was not so much the battery as it was regulation-charging devices under capacity failing then the battery burned.

I got two years out of a freakin wal Mart battery. 35 bucks too. I'm a believer in those.
