Shimming the kicker shaft

I finally shimmed my 750 and solved the problem by 90%. It took several hills in first gear before one episode of jumping out of gear. I shimmed it to almost nill clearance, about .030.

Can you check the endplay with a dial indicator and the gearbox in place and assembled? .005" about ideal?
