1st of all I have never worked on the isolastics before. I was thinking of doing the conversion to the vernier style. Is it pretty straight forward? Maybe a video how to?
thanks

If you get the retrofit kit, it's a bolt in. To use the MKIII type, a machining operation to the front tube. To me, it was a simple decision to use the retro fit kit.

Call up Mick Hemmings motors and get their vernier end cap. It comes with good instructions and you will get a chance to chat with Angie. Always a bonus.

+1 on the Hemmings vernier. Nothing else to buy and get rid of the shims, you'll still need the PTFE/nylon washers or what ever they are at this point. No machining, all original parts, just take off one side and the shims and put it on. Not much to make a video out of.

FWIW, note that replacing the oem rear iso with a vernier is considerably more involved/time consuming then doing that job at the front.

Don't get Norvil kit the metal tube that is used is 2mm larger in the bore than the 1/2" bolt or stud meaning it could move about or affect the alignment of engine and rear wheel assembly to the frame and front wheel. It is the cheap seam welded thin type of tube like that used for electric cabling and the welded seam is still there inside the tube further affecting the fit of bolt or stud
