Some seven years ago, I replaced both the headlamp brackets of my 1975 MK2 Commando by sock new ones.
By now however, they have become both very rusty. The chromium layer is even locally peeling off at the right bracket. They both show heavy rust pits all over.
Someone has any suggestions ?
Or alternatives (identical looking) with better chrome-quality ?

Polished stainless would be good fit and forget , but may cost a few more bucks

The Emgo chrome brackets are a good budget option the quality of plating is as good as the AN brackets but at around 30% cheaper

I would try to find a local chrome shop with a reputation for doing quality work, and plates in three layers: copper, nickel and chrome. Most suppliers of after market parts do not do triple chrome plating. It will cost more than buying reproduction parts, but at least you know what you're getting.
