I sat on a few Hi Riders back in the day when I was a LOT younger.
Most unnatural ergos ever. Not sure how anyone could ride one.

The seat was designed for the pleasure of the rider having a female pillion along.

The steep curvature ensures the pillion is very snugly pressed up against the rider's back.

It's actually REALLY NICE (depending on the pillion)
