Rivera:

The link to the 71 750 SS in the picture. I requested a copy of the Despatch Records earlier this year and found out my 71 was an SS and it was yellow; it was converted to a Roadster out of the Norton dealer. Was it only the tank that would've been yellow and the side covers black or did it just depend?

Thanks.

The tank for '71 SS was either yellow or tangerine. The side covers were always black (Roadster items). The SS seat is different from the '71 Roadster seat. Mufflers are standard Roadster items (not the same as 'S' mufflers).

Commando750:
see Ron L´s answer for paint question.
The pieces for converting a Roadster into a SS are about 1600.- Euros at Andover Norton:
exhaust, seat, handlebars, skid plate, front fender, smaller headlamp etc. Tank goes extra..

Ron L & Rivera: Thank you for the information. I actually have always liked the look of my bike as a Roadster and will keep it that way; I still have the skid plate mounted but did not know about the smaller headlamp. Thanks again.
