I check the rocker clearance in this way:
-when the left (or right) side inlet valve is fully open i check the rocker clearance of the right (or left) side inlet valve (as x manual);
-same way for the exhaust valves.
Someone use the Triumph T150 way:
-when each piston is on own TDC with inlet and exhaust valves full closed they check the rocker clearances of in and ex valves.
The question is if this way is correct the same.
Thank you.
Ciao.

either one will be OK but i prefer the first as you dont have to remove the plugs and check for TDC.

I will use either method to get in the ball park then slowly rock the motor a little bit forward and a little bit backward to find the loosest spot. Then I set the clearence.

If you go with your first option, I don’t see how you can go wrong. With a Commando cam, when one lobe is at lobe centre on lift, the other has to be on the base circle. Seems the simplest, safest method to me. So that’s how I do it too.

But I still take the plugs out, and put the engine in gear, so I can rock the wheel back and forth to try and ensure I’m pretty close to the lobe centre.
