Rizoma Mirrors

Yes and Yes , It is reverse and it can be repaired. We brought that up on the forum a while back . You can do a search search. The new models went to a smaller 8 mm thread as well . You should be able to get that broken stud out with a small punch and tap it around the correct way . Or if your worried about it , bring the casting to a local machine shop to do an easy out.

Reverse thread on only one mirror? If so, I don't follow why.

In any case, I'm sure the stud can be removed. Not saying I'm the one to do it. I tried removing a small screw on a brake reservoir cover with a tap once before and had no luck. Maybe it was the size that made it so difficult. But when I'm ready to install a second mirror I'll deal with it. Thanks, Tony A!

Not familiar with them but could it have been a reverse thread? Sometimes they do that with mirrors so the wind doesn't make them unscrew. Can it be repaired?

I was wrong about the wind. After some internet searching the best answer I have found is this from one of the Yamaha forums:

"it's not just Yamaha - Many MC mfg do this. think about when you hit something. It is designed to "break loose" instead of causing you to loose steering control."

Think of a bird hitting your mirror. The left mirror will unscrew counterclockwise. The right one will unscrew clockwise.

When ever I hit some serious speeds, my mirror would loosen. The Rizomas stay nice and firm. Adjusting a mirror at 100 mph isn't fun.

Okay, that makes some sense. This is the first bike I've owned set up like this. Sure wasn't expecting it.

I've owned several from each company and Oberon has been hands down the nices quality and function with great looks. I've bought three set of their mirrors now and the third didn't even have a bike yet. Got them off fleabay for less than half off and couldn't say no to the quality and price.

Hi Guys,

Can I resurrect this thread seeking some assistance with Rizoma mirrors. I am looking to fit bar end Cafe Racer mirrors, namely the Rizoma Spy-Arm mirrors. I am having difficulty in identifying the correct adapter that I understand needs to be purchased to fit the 14 mm ID bars on the 961 CR Mk 1 - they are 14mm right?

Anybody fitted these mirrors and identified the correct adapter - it will start with LP XXX (numbers). Strangely the Rizoma imposter (freudian slip 'importer) over here in Aus cannot assist. Methinks Norton may be a tad too exotic - kinda like the sound of that!!!!

Thanks.

Just had confirmation from Rizoma direct. The corect adaptor for the bar end cafe racer mirror is LP200B, this is the fitting for 13-20 mm bars.

Looking to order the Spy Arm mirror for the right side only - Rizoma’s products really are top quality.

They are indeed but, you have lowered the british content on your bike and halfed its value :)

Been looking at other mirrors and cannot find a really top quality mirror to match Rizoma CR mirror. Interesting re the last comments, I understand that the Ken Sean mirrors are a Taiwanese item lol!.

Anybody any further suggestions for a good quality CR mirror, noting a pair of Rizomas are nearly 600 AUD!

Cheers.

Steve

Steve, have you spoken to the factory? They might sell the bar end mirrors that they fitted to the anniversary CRs.

HI Eddie,

Thanks for the suggestion, I have’nt looked at these. Do we have a thread with an image of these mirrors? I’ll check Norton’s website.

Thanks.

Steve
