I need to know the difference between a rear 18" rim (Drum brake) and a front 18" rim (Disc brake). I know the hub size between the drum hub and disc hub is different, but what is the physical difference? Is there any? It would seem to me the only difference would be the trajectory of the dimples due to the different length spokes required for a disc versus drum brake front rim, being that the hubs are not the same in diameter. Please help if you can. Thanks.

Hole angles will be different. That's it. Nortons are typically 19", not sure what wheels you are looking at.

Already have the 18" mounted for the rear, just waiting for the new 18" to come in for the front. A friend of mine (owner of the local Norton parts supply store in Edmonton) has 18" rims on his bike, as well as 1.5" shorter Hagon shocks and Atlas front shock tubes (also 1.5" shorter)2" total, (in combination with the 1/2" height you lose with the 18" rims) and man does it look cool! I'm doing the same with my 74 850, just waiting (for over two months now) for the cursed front rim. Looking for options, that's why the initial question, wanted to see if there was another 18" alternative out there I was overlooking. ???
