Ride to Work Day - June 20th

Nope. I have a 30 minute commute in white knuckle traffic and my classic insurance won't cover me.

I work from home, but I typically go for a ride on "ride to work" day.

Dave, I understand the white knuckle commute (the reason why I don't commute on a bike as much now) but most classic bike insurers should cover "Ride to Work Day" because it is an event. Of course then I guess one could argue semantics.

I try and ride to work every day it's not raining and above freezing. A 20 minute commute on country roads is all I have.

i ride to work most of the time unless its icy or raining hard i dont like being damp all day ,i dont care on the way home i just jump in the shower,i find my commando good for commuting i alternate my bikes i have a triumph t160 a bsa gold flash and a bmw r100 rigid chop all four get used for commuting i have classic to and from work insurance cover, three days a week i do 18 miles a day and two days i do 74 miles a day cheers baz

Aaron is probably right that my insurance would cover me for a special day like this. But the commute is 70+ mph and people are insane on the highway. I don't think my nerves could take it.

I hadn't heard of Ride To Work Day before - Did the AMA publish any notice that I missed?

Gee never heard that today was Ride to Work Day. Well, Im retired so Ill just have to go and torch off the bike and poodle around
in drive time traffic.
...just for the memories of course! :)

Do the loop around I-90/87/787 up there at 5 PM just to test your wits.

I Circled 'Ride to Work Day' on the office calendar a month ago, but one of my co-workers is on vacation this week and I needed to perform 25 field inspections in his place, so had to take the work truck to work

(I'm a municipal Plans Examiner/Inspector)

I rode My G80 around town last to make up for it.

Even though I'm a retired worthless lay-about I honored my working friends by going for a 100 mile sympathy ride yesterday. Of coarse I had to tell them all about it and post pictures of my Commando and I enjoying the sights and back roads of Whidbey Island. I'm not sure if this respects the concept of riding to work but I sure enjoyed it.

Pulling into your last place of employment parking lot would count.

I thought Id let you all know that my sympathy-for-those-employed ride was terminated about ten miles from
home due to a roofing nail puncture.
We lucked out as it happened next to a bike owners house and he gave me a lift home where I snagged my
truck and a mate and his ramps for a rescue run.
Overjoyed that the incident ended successfully with no damage to the machine or me.
....tar and toob on order!
