dear All,
the back writing on my seat is fading away and I would like to restaure it without getting rid of the original cover. I know it is originally 'hot pressed', but I am wondering if there's any kind of stencil or whatever, and furthermore what golden paint to use..
any suggestion is very much apreciated! ThanX..

Seems to me I've heard about vinyl paint, you might look into that?

Never tried one of these, but have a look:

What I can tell you is that spray can vinyl dye is available. Don't know how easy it will be to find gold or silver, but it must be out there. I used some black years ago to spray a panel on a seat, and it worked good, and stayed on quite well. Remember the old car vinyl tops? You could dye those, and the vinyl dye would eat into the old vinyl and really attach itself so good that it had reasonable durability. Of course, the prep was everthing. Car dealership I wrenched at did a few of those.

eta: if you really love your original seat, you might buy an extra stencil and do a practice run on a scrap of vinyl similar to that of your seat. Any auto trim shop should have a small bit for you.

Rattle can SEM interior automotive paint can be had from most auto paint stores. It's made for vinyl and plastic.

SEM is the brand name.

the bonnie seat has been through spring/summer/fall weather of all kind and hasnt been affected yet

also, I used rustoleum universal advanced formula metallic all surface paint for both seats. first washed the seats well then his the area with 600 grit sandpaper a little, then sticker stencil, then a LIGHT coat.

what do you mean by reverse stickers?

the link given earlier on, on ebay-I used the same thing-a stencil i should have said

here's their website link
http://www.rustoleum.com/CBGProduct.asp?pid=181

i dont know if you can buy direct from them or not, but thats what the can looks like and everything

here's a link on amazon (didnt see any gold on ebay at a quick glance)
http://www.amazon.com/Rust-Oleum-245221 ... B0016HLAH8

i cant find the can i had of the gold so youd have to hunt around to see if they have different types of gold. the silver i used was titanium silver (found that can)
