is anyone who may suggest how to restore the golden 'Norton' logo on the back of the seat?

I was just searching on here yesterday. My new seat cover has silver lettering instead of gold.

I found these two links to get you started

a stencil and some vinyl dye

Caution, that stencil with the dollar bill is much larger than stock.

I measured my old logo and then had a sign guy make me a stencil. Then used a brush and gold sign lettering paint.

A vinyl stencil is the way to go, but as there are so many variations the only certain way is to take the cover off (not actually all that difficult with care when removing the clips) and scan the existing logo. Your local stencil cutter can then get the exact graphic. It's not just size - there are differing styles as well

Otherwise a photo and measurement (or the real thing) would work as already mentioned, provided your stencil supplier has the right logo on file

If you get stuck for a stencil source pm me

Lorenzo is after the '72 'stencil' style er, stencil like this one:

It's nothing like the tank logos I have, and needs dedicated artwork doing :|
To do it justice will take some effort, so if anyone else out there can use a vinyl stencil as above, let me know - otherwise it's a shed-load of effort for one sticker!

I can make you a stencil mask any size you like, all you need is some Vinyl screen printing ink & a cheap brush, its exactly the same way we used to make vinyl banners....my artwork is the same logo as the tank I have been making Norton logos on & off for over 30 years...let me know. The one in the photo is not correct.

I think a better way of saying it would be 'It is not correct to those I have seen'

I have a range of Norton logos, none of which are anything like the one in the Photo. I have other seats which my logos do match.
Lorenzo has 2 seats like the one in the photo, which is of a different seat again, and my '72 Combat is the same - and I'm looking to copy the design from that one.

So it is a correct logo ('72-'73) - I just don't have it... at the moment.

Thank you B+Bogus
I got that picture on the web. As far as I can understand, it is clearly an original seat form the years 1971-73. I did not know the writing on the seats could be different.
I will post the actual picture of my seat soon, as you kindly asked.. let's see if I can get a scanner to do the job
I wish this may help also other people to restore their original seat..

I had an original seat as well (1971) and it was EXACTLY like the stencil-type above (not like the tank decal). I saved the logo but can't locate it at the moment.

I found a few quiet moments and came up with this:

How to restore the Norton logo on the seat?

Looking carefully at the 't' it looks like it tapers towards the bottom in the photo, but I was assuming it was an incomplete print - now I'm not so sure.
If anyone can chime in one way or the other I can get the job finished - I'm making sure I can cover the original print with minimal overlap to keep it 'correct' looking.

I'm inclining myself towards the 't' being tapered, even if it does look a bit odd

Oh yes - if anyone wants a stencil let me know via PM

I think I've got it sorted.

Got the mask design done and ran off a sample. After a couple of tweaks I'm happy with it.
Normally, logos don't have to be that exact, but this one is covering old ink/paint or whatever, so was a bit more demanding.

The logo is 123.5mm wide per my original.

I sprayed enamel with an airbrush, but there's already been quit a few other recommendations made, which I'm sure would work fine.
I wish I'd spent more time cleaning the seat beforehand though...
