So all the the smoke as escaped from my 850 harness.
Also the PO seemed to hack into it and repair it poorly over the years.

Figure it is better to start fresh.

Anyone have advice on what harness to buy and from who?

I used an Andover one, it was ok except for the fuse holder was badly fitted so the fuse was not connected all the time due to not enough pressure. I always replace the fuse holder for a blade type anyway so I can buy spares at any petrol station but this was fitted 2 days before a trip to IOM so no time for the swap. Luckily the symptoms only started after the trip when I had time to change.

I used a full set of Andover Norton harnesses when rebuilding a MK3 earlier this year, and had no issues. They seemed to be good quality, and everything fit properly.

I also use British Wiring...5 different harnesses, no problems and true to the originals
