Gents,
In particular, Mr Skinner:

I’d like to remove the evap tank, when using the bike in off road events...

What can / should I remove?

I assume that the 2 hoses from the tank can simply be left to vent to atmosphere.

But what do I do with the hose from the throttle body (number 2 in the manual) and the associated T piece and purge valve?

Do I leave the hose on and just let it vent to atmosphere and remove the purge valve and T piece?

Do I leave the purge valve and T piece in situ and allow the outlet to vent to atmosphere?

Do I remove it all and blank off the throttle body take off point?

Hi,

We have a EVAP blanking kit to go with the aftermarket exhausts. Also a TSB to show how its plumbed in. All not for for road use of course.

Please call Clem and he can sort for you.

Great - thanks Simon - you may remember I asked about this at the 50th launch....

For those interested saving their canisters for future use whilst using the bike off road temporarily ...

The kit and instructions from Clem show what and how to disconnect and plug very clearly. But still leave the actual canister and caboodle in place.

I’ve looked at this today, when the recommended plugging has been done, the canister, purge valve etc can all be removed.

FWIW, the bracket holding the canister in place is really very ‘sturdy’. I estimate a 3mph increase in top speed with the weight removal ...
