remove the push rod covers from a 57' 19S (ES2)?

how does one remove the push rod covers from a 57' 19S (ES2)? (from the head)

They simply pull out
There is a rubber sleeve (part no. 20049) in each hole in the head which the pushrod tube pushes (firmly) into.
The is also a steel washer above and below this sleeve. The top one (20047) is flat while the lower one (20045) is dished to match the step in the pushrod tube.
The attached pic from the parts list shows them as items 46, 48 & 49.
The sleeve does go hard with heat and age so you may need some force to pull them out

I was able to get them out
I was afraid of damaging them but wiggling them while pulling really hard and they came out
