Red Framed Commando

A friend of mine just got a 1972 750 Combat Commando. It came with the Norvil kit--tank, seat/tailpiece, faring and rear-sets. But, the bike has a red frame; and it appears that it has not been painted over--only primer beneath the red. Any ideas?

I remember seeing a red framed Combat at Pokes Cycle in Seattle. That was probably sometime in the early eighties. The owner said that the frame had been painted by a well known local painter, Clyde Moslander. Clyde would have done a job at least s nice as what came from the factory. The bikes owner said that he was interested in Pokes sons red café stuff. Maybe?

I have an idea... it's been repainted. The Guzzi V7 Sport was one of the exotics at the time. Probably inspired a few people back then.

I think red frames can look good or bad depending on the rest of the bike, I dared to give it a go and am happy with the result. can you post a pic?

Well I said it before ... you just got to love a red framed bike .... wish all those yrs ago I had done mine with a red frame .... at this stage it will have to be someone else .... I do have red framed bike now just not a Norton

I do have a RED Ducati so that wise old feller was absolutely correct !
Fast Eddie is not the boss of me , so I still wish for a red framed black Commando too ....

Those pics will cause a Norton lover to lose sleep at night wondering & anticipating how they would feel. That's Norton porn.
