Well I would like to thank Keith and others who assisted in my questions about the white, blue & red colours. Just finished painting the tank and side covers this week-end. It took me a while to prepare the steel roadster tank, it was pretty battered and but after a lot of perserverance and the miracle of plastic filler, we got there. Also 2 pak hi fill primer made it possible to get a top class base for the finish. I got the colours Keith suggested in Glasurit 55 line base coat, started applying the white on Saturday, then late Saturday night my son & I marked out and masked the tank for the sripes. The photo's posted on this site really helped here. Then early as I could fire up the compressor without alarming neighbours, I spayed the red, the masked and put the blue on. The tape came off without to many mishaps, I had to touch in a couple of ragged masking edges, and carefully wet & dryed off some overspray. Then on with the gold stickers, they can be fun on the tank, trying to conform to the tank shape, but got there in the end. Then about lunchtime I cleared the whole job, 3-coats of MS Glasurit clear, and if I say so myself it looks beautiful. Now I will post some photos as soon as I can get my new DSLR to download to my computer.
Thank everyone. Richard

Looking forward to seeing the results. That white, blue and red scheme is second only to the blue metal flake in my opinion

My rule is 10 am Sundays, 9 am other days.

Glasurit 155 is my clear of choice. Goes on like glass. If you're gonna wet sand and polish, do it before 24 hrs else it gets hard as stone.

Pics?
