Rear wheel bearings?

Just stripped the old bearings out from a rear wheel on one of my projects, in the wheel hub it had two single row bearings instead of what I was expecting (the speedo drive side having a single row and the drive side having a double row?)
Am I remembering wrong? I tried to fit a double row in the drive side but it stood 1-1.5mm proud preventing the fitment of the dust shield/felt washer.

Possible you have the wrong bearing.
One type needed deepening of the pocket.

But which one? Only up to 1970 had the double bearing in the (bolt up) hub, the later cush hub had the double bearing in the brake drum.
In theory it's a 1973 and it's a cush drive hub. Its actually a CMA alloy wheel with a cush drive hub

Actually that makes some sense as the last one I did over winter was a '69 bolt up hub. I must have got the drawings mixed up somehow.
