Rear sets

Are these replacement rearsets for classic Nortons?
This should be on the classic forum, no?

I think kid thunder is asking about rearsets for 961s.

If that’s the case, I don’t know of any!

But I’d be happy to be wrong...

Thanks Fast Eddy. That's why I asked on this site!!
I figured that. It looks like a major undertaking to make them for the 961.
Becaue of bad knees I need about an inch or so drop.
I've done it on my Aprilia Tuono RSV & on my EBR1190SX by piecing together pegs & stuff to get my desired drop. But this one baffles me!

Did you check to see if the footpegs on the California model are the same height as the typical 961?
Those may be lower.
Otherwise, you could try contacting Matt at CNW to see if he makes replacements.
The only person I know who made custom 961 rearsets was John Snead, and they raised the pegs for racing in vintage class racing.

My post was an answer to the other rearsets thread in the Classic section, wondered where it had gone and have deleted it.

Found the thread from John Snead from back in 2016.

He explains that the stock pegs are too far outboard from the centerline of the bike, so they ground easily.
John dispensed with the silencer, and passenger peg sub frames on both sides and replaced them with machined alloy plates.
The plates allowed the pegs to mount closer to the bike's centerline inboard, providing needed cornering clearance.

If you were to simply lower the pegs, you would most likely have a ground clearance issue in some situations.

Have you considered raising the seat - a number of threads show this has been done with some success (Mxmartin, contours, Clive etc..) a combination of the two - rear sets and seat - might solve clearance issues.

Good thinking, but, surprisingly (given the radically different handle bars) the Café, Sport and California all share the same footrest arrangement.
Matt at cNw does not do any alternatives.
So, I don't think there are any to be honest. I guess the potential market is too small to make it viable for the usual contenders.

Thanks guys. It does look like a complete redo would be the only way. Thought the Cali link would be it. Oh well.

I have that already from another project. Can't seem to figure how to make them work. Yet.
Thanks.
