Hi

I have a 3.00 rim on a T160 hub with a 130/70 tyre (probably ex Rob North)
If I fit this to my MK2 Seeley Commando what tyre size should I use? or is the rim just to big. I cant see the 130/70 working as its to big on my Rickman triple with offset drive sprocket & Ken Inwood (Hersham Racing) fitted a 130/650 (narrower profile)
On my Mk4 I have been running Dunlop 124's
However with this project I have a 124 front & a 164 rear.
I know John says I should use Avons & I know Gary Thwaites was running 120 rears last season.
Any thoughts
Chris

I don't know about the T160 hub you're using and any sprocket offset problems you may have but the Avon AM23 130/70 is made for 3.00 rims. The 130/650 is made for 2.15 or 2.5 rims and bulges out the sidewalls when fit to a 3.00 rim although some still run that combination.

Dunlop KR164 fits 3.00 wheels perfectly as well, as long as your sprocket is adequately offset.

Hi Northern
Thanks I will go with the 2.5 rim & standard rear Commando wheel for now.
The usual problem. Nice wheel sitting in the garage & you try & think of a use for it.
Thanks once again for the advice (& you John)
all the best Chris
