R. Drum Brk. Sprkt. Dbl.-row Bearing. For a sealed replacement anyone have ideas ? 06-7688 I believe in book. This bearing gets neglected for periodic lubrication. Do not confuse with wheel bearings which are now available as sealed.

you can get sealed double row from Mike at Walridge.
These are a drop in bearing where you don't have to modify the Drum /Sprocket as per Old Brits.

I'm thinking the double sealed bearing is the 06-7688S
You probably should confirm with Waldridge

Placed an order for the wrong one with Mike and Kathy , will clarify in the morning. Looks like a fifty dollar item.

I looked at the OldBritts description of their sealed bearing and they did note it is a slight bit wider than standard.
Did you confirm with Waldridge that their's is the standard width.
If wider than standard the circlip may not be able to be put into its slot.
OlbBritts doesn't mention how to put their's in so maybe not a problem but I'd still ask.

I put the Walridge double row sealed bearing in both my front and rear wheels. Couldn't tell the difference from original except sealed. But I have the older rear wheel without the cush drive, no double row bearing in the brake drum, it's in the hub.

I got a couple of the sealed double row bearings from Walrige last winter. They listed them as replacements for the double row wheel bearings but I used one for the rear drum bearing. It fit right in without the modifications to the dummy axle or drum. It has 06-7688S on a tag on the box and the designation from the manufacturer, ZEN, is 4203 2RS GL. They were around $25 each at the time but I think they were on sale.. BTW, I asked the local bearing guy about the bearing and he said the internal dimensions of the sealed bearing is reduced, that would be the races and the balls, to make room for the seals and keep the external dimensions the same. So there might be a slight lowering of the capacity of the bearing.
