Hi all I broke my rear chain yesterday and need to pick up a new one today can some one tell me the size please and how many links
Is it a 530 and what length need to go grab one cheers

It depends on what gearbox sprocket, but the 19 tooth takes 99 links while the 21 and 22 take 100 links. I'm not sure about a 20 tooth. Most 530 chains come in 98, 100, or 102 link boxes

Is it even possible for a 530 chain to be set up with an odd number of links?

Always used 98 links for 19T on '72 combat.

Probably right. Shop manual calls for 99 links for a 19 and 20T, but the '72 riders manual calls for 98 links

I run a 21t. A 98 link will not fit and a 100 link chain leaves little adjustment. It is just possible to run a 100 for a short while then remove two links once it's worn a little.

I'm currently using an Iwis with a cranked link. It seems like well made chain.

I think the first question I would have asked is if it had been modified to a 520 chain.
