Top of the morning to ya all... I am wanting to put a 73 850 commando motor in a vertical mounted 65 matchless frame... does this throw ouf the balance of the motor? .....also would it affect the oil circulation
The 850 would fit just fine - you would need to re-balance for the solid mounting. In a Commando, the balance factor is about 52%, and in a G15/N15/33, the factor is would be in the range of 78-84% dependent on where you want the big vibration zone.
Go for it , wish Id built a 750 Commanone centuries ago when offered a complete chassis for $ 50 .
Bloke had a chopped up solid mounted 850 in a bottom tube - less Commando monoshock . Mounted Solid , Std 850 B.F.
Thought He'd try it and see . Said t wasnt bad , Vibration wise . He had had so many opinions , he thought he would start there .
