looking at dozens of pictures....I have noticed that those of us that have progressive rear springs have them mounted both with the tighter winding at the top and some at the bottom...is there technical reason for this way or that?
pros...cons?

thanks, Eric

I just had my rear shocks and springs apart. the tight winding was on the top and when I went to put the tight end on the bottom I noticed they won't fit over the body of the shock.

FYI
Hagon Shocks have tight windings at bottom. I have a set on my 72 8) rebuild and a new set still in the box.

As the shocks compress the tight windings bind increasing the spring poundage, they also become dead weight. so are best being sprung weight as opposed to being unsprung weight and so are best at the top.
