Installed new plug wires this AM, went to start... 2nd kick started for a couple seconds and died, then I lost the red indicator light and now bike won't fire. No power going into light. I'm stumped. Details: Pazon Sure Fire system, battery 12.5 V., fuse good, headlight works.

If there's no power reaching the red charge warning light then there may be no power reaching the ignition (Pazon) as they are both fed from the same supply (white to kill Sw. then white/yellow and/or white/blue to Pazon) from the ignition switch (terminal 2).

So the fault is likely to be somewhere along 'white' from the ignition switch, or the Ign. switch itself could be faulty?

Thanks LAB. I'll start at the switch.

OK, I was editing as you posted so just to make it clear, the white power feed to the ignition only goes as far as the kill switch, it then continues on as a white/yellow wire which may also connect to white/blue before connecting to the Pazon box.

There was a bad connection in the headlight on the white going into the red indicator light. That fixed that problem but idle is still pretty high and for some reason the left pipe must be getting very hot... starts yellowing after only 30 seconds or so. I was waiting for these new plug wires before I finished the timing and balanced the carbs. I'll have to wait till someone can come over and help me now. It's hard enough holding the light and the throttle while trying to read the timing mark, but the way this thing drifts around on the stand while the motor's revving makes it dangerous without a helper.

A thick rubber mat under the stand usually helps to stop the thing dancing around when its revved.

Suspect an intake air leak on the LH cylinder, this could cause the hot running and the high idle,

Dave
