TriSpark, ARP, Lansdown dampers, LEDs, Brembo.... not my bargain basement mail-order spit/polish refurb and head resto of 25 years ago...

I went to a car show in Maui last week. The prize of the show was a 34 Ford with all the right stuff, 350 chev 330 horse, overdrive auto trans, 9 inch ford rear end, rack and pinion PS, independant front suspension, 4 wheel disc brakes, AC, beautiful leather interior with wool carpets.
The Maroon metallic paint looked to be about 1/2" thick and the entire car shone like a mirror.
My friend who is a professional Hotrod builder was blown away by the quality of the components and the work.
Cost to build was 117,000 US
Appraised at 80,000 US
For sale for $40,000 US

Rusty bucket said:They are worth what someone is willing to pay. The Porsche 911 market has gotten rather insane IMO as well. Jokes at the water cooler in the Pcar world let us all wet. I'm happy I bought one cheap a few years ago but it's really silly these days when a clapped out rust bucket is going for 20+ and a nice long hood pre-74 brings well over 50. 930 turbos are 100k and going.
Ducati prices are insane. An oval case bevel is untouchable now and have become blue chip stocks going over 50 a few years ago. Even the unloved Darhma bikes are getting up in value. I bought my MK3 18months ago for 6k and felt it was about 1500 too much. Of course it's a money pit but maybe I'll break even in a few years. Thing is I buy my gears to enjoy, riding, driving and wrenching on. I'm fortunate enough I've managed to get a few diamonds in the rough but many are now out of reach of the average Joe right? Fact is they always were...
Lancia Aurellias in the 50's were over 6,000 bucks, when a nice Porsche was <3 & a nice MG was 1200. So these nice Marques have always been high, dropped off then jumped back and some gone mad. Several Lancia Spiders have fetched over a million, one 1.9 mil. So I guess 100k Ducati SS bikes will become the norm, sad for me I didn't buy one instead of my Pual Smart in 2006; I almost bought a sweet Oval case SS in 05' for under 10! Dumb move... Oh well. The Paul Smart is worth almost 2x what ai paid for it though! Silly!! I stopped racing it at he track though... Too expensive to replace in my mind but it seems silly not to ride it like it was meant to be, fast hard and leaned over screaming out of a corner at Summit Point with the front tire off the ground :
