unfortunate?
google said that Ontario got up to 41 degrees today.

37 degrees in Cedaredge Colorado today (w/snow flurries) and we rode.
I feel fortunate.

Dunlop Qualifier SportMax 2

Last year I went with my dad to the Dunlop store so he could get a better tyre for cold and wet. After my dads fall in NC Ive taken every extra precautions so I'm not going to attemp the dunlops even if there is a safety cushion on that temp. I have my 2-stroke for days like this past week.

Hi Richard,

I would like to hear what tire your dad selected to install on his 961 to replace his Dunlops.

I have Dunlops on my 961 . . . the ones that came on the bike, and likely the same ones you and your dad have on your bikes.

These tires perform well reasonably well when warm, and on dry roads; but I have had the rear tire let go on me when I am accelerating out of a turn on a damp road or on a cool day! It has never caused a crash, but it has caused a fair amount of consternation. I am not a "power rider" or an aggressive rider, and I drive in a very conservative manner at all times!

I am seriously considering ditching the Dunlops and going with Michelin Pilots or Bridgestone Battleax tires. Or I would like to hear your thoughts and recommendations!

Don

When my original tires wore out, I replaced the Dunlop Sportmax Qualifies with Sportmax Q3s, which I have on two other bikes and thoroughly recommend. Excellent feedback and grip.

Hibernation? We went for a Christmas day ride, did almost 50 miles, there were 10 of us! We must have seen another 20 bikes on the road, Awsome!!!

Nice! Could have easily done that here, too. But the holiday got in the way. :(

I did a 46mile ride christmas eve. Crazy weather this year. I'll get info on dads tyres but they are definitely dunlops. Sportmax Q3 seems to ring a bell. Way more deep grooves compared to mine.

Since I changed from the Dunlop to Bridgestone Battlax I stay with Bridgestone. The rear tyres were changed three times: I had the Bridgestone S20 Hypersport and Sport Touring BT021 and BT023, the latter two make more miles than the Hypersport. In the garage are waiting S20 Hypersport Evo to be mounted some time next season. I prefer the Hypersport because of the better grip also when wet they are in my opinion better than the Dunlop. With the stock Dunlop rear tyres I made 3000 mi, with the Hypersport rear 3600 mi, front 8000 mi. With the BT021 rear I rode 5800 mi.

Here is my hibernation conribution. My first ride in year 2016 was today!
Finally winter arrived in Switzerland, but for the time being only in the mountains as you can see in the background... Good enough for bikers, bad for skiers!

Raphi, Switzerland

... but usually I drive in Switzerland on the right side, there is less oncoming traffic!

Then it would be Heaven!

Definitely speed camera heaven !

Swiss authorities love them. And seem to set them to zero tolerance.

I speak from expensive personal experience !
