I rode up to Chehalis last Friday to attend (and compete) in the AHRMA National event. I obviously wanted to take some backroads. I headed up 30 to Rainer and over to Longview. I got a little lost in Longview trying to find 411 but once I did I headed north along the river. While the speed limit was pretty low up until Vadar (45mph) the road was nice and I may have bent the speed limit slightly.
I was having so much fun out there I only managed to take one picture the whole time. 8)
The real fun was when I headed west from Vader into the countryside. I found some great sweeping roads, very little traffic and no apparent speed limit.
I did miss a turn and end up in Ryderwood, a weird "Children of the Corn" for Adults 55+ community in the middle of nowhere. The road deadends out there so just turn around before they eat you and look for the sign to Wildwood.
You do run through farm country so look out for pickup trucks (plentiful) and cows (hopefully contained). I rode through one farm and the road was wet. Only on one side and for a mile or two. Strange. Just ride sensible and you'll be fine.
If you're in the area check it out.
