Hey guys I am heading up to Portland for a LEGO Convention and was wondering if there were any cool bike shops or events happening this week? I will be heading back to Cali on Monday. Oh, and if you guys like LEGO you should definitely come and take a look at the displays and vendors. It's called Bricks Cascade. Thanks.

Unfortunately you're about two decades too late to visit Cycle Hub and the famous Cliff Mahjor aka the Sandy Lane Bandit. As far as west coast Brit bike shops, believe the only remaining brick and mortar establishments are in California. There was a pretty nice Harley shop near the airport, not sure if that's still there. More than 10 years ago I was visiting when ZZ Top stopped by in their RV for some service on their big twins. Oh and a bit late to visit Norton America production over on the west side.

Oh yea, there is a nice air museum in McMinville south of Portland. Howard Hugh's Spruce Goose is there along with an SR71 Blackbird and many other interesting historic flying machines. SwooshDave will have to fill you in on the local motorcycle museum.

@bwolfie: I am a vendor there. I supy all of the loose bricks and sell by the pound. I also sell sets and individual figures.

@dave: Dave, Sorry ro make you feel old but i Probobly wasn't even born when all of those establishments were still up and running haha. P.S say hi to the NCNOC guys at tomorrow's meeting!

See See Motorcycles and Coffee Shop: Not a lot of bikes, mostly a coffee shop.
Kelly's Olympian: Must go to check out the bikes hanging from the ceiling.
Moto Corsa: Ducati dealer, cool shop.

All within a few miles of the Convention Center.

While there have been a couple vintage shops they have all closed recently. The last one was Vintage Classic. They lasted a couple months.

No events going on. Normally I'd say bring your umbrella but the forecast for the weekend is really nice.

More when I think of it.

Langlitz Leathers is one of the premier leather shops on the planet and they happen to have a Manx Norton hanging from the ceiling.

They are located on S.E. Division near 24th.

The Harley Shop mentioned is off 205 near Gladstone. You can't miss it, they have a US flag about the size of a drive-in theater screen. Or are you too young to know what they look like too?

Russ

Thanks for the replies y'all. Will definitely check most of them out.

And yes I Kinda know what the U S flag looks like :)

Langletz is a great idea.

Latus Motors use to be up towards the airport, on Sandy Blvd, next to a strip club shaped like a jug... but I digress... I went into Latus last year. Went back to the Triumphs and stood around for an while and no one even looked at me. No idea why they are a dealer.

Oh haha. Ok that makes sense now. Yes I know what those are, we actually have a drive in movie theater in San Jose CA.

I forgot to ask, are you even old enough to drink? Cuz you might need to scratch Kelly's Olympian off you list.

Did you ever post any pictures of your bike(s)?

I'll PM my phone number and you can text me if you have some free time.

I forgot about Beaverton Motorcycles. They have an extensive collection of old bikes there. It's on the west side of town, in Beaverton, so about a 15 minute drive.

I haven't been out there in a long while. They've added a lot of stuff. There's also another museum at the coast in Tillamook (about and hour or so from McMinville).

There are also two well known private collections but they are only open on Tuesdays and not every one at that.

Monjebricks and his dad came over tonight to look at bikes. They are two of the nicest people I've met. Really a joy to have them over. They couldn't stay too long but I'm sure we could have talked bikes for hours.

I hope they get to see some other stuff here in Portland. Luckily they won't see rain.
