I had my metal tank lined with POR 15.
I am wondering: is there any contraindication with the ethanol gas?
Thank you!

UGH, that's more controversial question than what oil is best. Apparently old type POR was not up to ethanol as there was a rash of peeling tanks about a decade ago. New POR may be same or similar to Novalac Caswell's coating but even so must be put on real thick or in layers. Serach POR15 online if no definite answer form others. Mainly its an issue with fiberglass not metal but may peel and clog but not dissolve resin into engine parts.

I used the POR 15 on a metal tank for the TR6P and got a really good result: no leaks, solid bond and it's held up well for two seasons with no signs of peeling/flaking. Follow the directions carefully and be mindful of the fact that the stuff is incredibly resilient. It will NOT come off things like hands, washing machines, the floor, the dog.

I'm going with the Caswell for the Norton fiberglass tank later this winter.

for those who may be interested, I contacted directly the company asking if my metal gas tank would be affected by ethanol contained in the gas in the long run.and they replied:
"It should be perfectly fine. We have tested our sealer against 100% ethanol and it held up."

hobot is right on, this is like an oil thread. that being said, i have POR 15 2 tanks and have had excellant results. like the man said, follow directions!!
