I'm presently rebuiling a Moto Guzzi Le Mans MK1 that I picked up in a very sorry and disgusting state.

It's come with an original plastic nose fairing, but there is a chunk about 1.5" X 0.5" on the top edge that has been broken off and is missing, and in this bit is where one of the five mounting points are located, and so it will be to an extent a "stressed" area. So it isn't just a case of sticking it back in, as a new piece will need fabricating.

I am struggling to find anywhere locally who can confirm that they can repair it, although a local car repairer has said if it is out of sight that they may be able to effect a repair.

Therefore I just wondered if anybody knew any geniuses at plastic repairing in the UK, as there is also a repair to a side panel needed. I know that new fibreglass nose fairing are available but they aren't as cosmetically pleasing on the inner face as the original plastic one.

If you look under 'bumper repairs' for cars you will probably find someone local - that can do a neat repair. They are that black plastic that many bumpers are made of, and repairers will have black sticks of repair material - I did a course on 'welding' with it to repair my sidecovers. I rather suspect the fibreglass versions are probably stronger....
Some bike repairers advertise fairing repairs too, something like MCN will probably turn up someone.

Rohan, yes that's probably just what I'm looking for, and what's more it's only 25 miles or so from me. :D

I'm rather embarrassed actually especially as it's on my doorstep nearly

I had done a google search and found http://bikeclinic.co.uk/ who are busy until April and http://www.motocc.co.uk/acatalog/Repair_Center.html which is in Portsmouth, so expensive to post to, but this is a much better option if they are able to do a good job.

Thank you very much, I'll call him this week.
