Need help locating placement of the Norton oil use decal (#06 3977) that goes under the gas tank on the top frame tube of a '74 Commando 850 MKII. Had the frame powder coated and forgot to take a picture of the old decal location. Don't mean to be crazy about this since it's likely never to be seen that often. I do have a new genuine Norton decal and would like to at least get as close (in the ball park) to where the orignally placed them as possible. So would appreciate if someone has a 850 frame laying around, or happens to have their tank off, could you tell me 1) Decal orentation, and 2) position on the top frame tube. Again I realize the guy placing these on the asm line was not doing this with a great degree of accuracy. I could use the picture in the parts book, however have grown not to trust their diagrams. Thanks

On my 1974 Commando this is where my oil stickers are located: The bottom of the oil tank service information sticker aligns with the leading edge of the frame's cross tube. The top of that sticker faces towards the front of the bike. The oil recommendation sticker is just above the oil tank service information sticker. The top of that sticker faces towards the left of the bike.

The way my bike is configured my Interstate tank covers half of the oil recommendation sticker which seems kind of lame.

Here is a picture of the stickers on my bike. The stickers are original and unfortunately pretty well worn out.

Thanks guys, Appreciate the responces. It appears there is a lot of freedom as to where this gets placed, more than I originally thought.
