When I fit my new Pazon Surefire EI Is there a preferred location for the little black box? It won’t go under the space where the condenser and ballast were as my CNW coils fits there quite nicely. Ideally I wouldn’t want to tape it to a downtube, but if needs must.......

Suggestions please :)

Seems to me I squeezed mine just above and in front of the headsteady on the right side with some ZIP TIES

The final resting place for it is now on a rubber pad in front of the battery as there is now space having removed the clunky plastic airbox.

I have fitted mine under the battery tray, i have it adhered with VHB double sided tape with zip ties as a back up.
It was a toss up to mount it on top of the tray, but i decided to mount the rectifier/regulator there

With the Smartfire it was advised to mount the module away from the coils and HT leads. On the other hand, the Surefire instructions I read this am advise to mount that module " In a convenient location, preferably close to the ignition coils"
Most Boyer analog units are mounted very close to the coils and seem to work fine that way.
From the Pazon instructions Surefire doesn't mind close proximity to coils while Smartfire does.
A friend ran the feed wires to his Pazon module alongside the HT leads. The Pazon module cooked. Pazon said, "no wonder, you should not run any of the module wires close to the HT wires"
I can't recall which Pazon ignition type that was.

I have my Surefire instructions here in front of me “ find a suitable place for the ignition module (eg under seat or tank)Secure the ignition module to the frame using one or more large cable ties” nothing about proximity to the coils.

Well done to Pazon - 2 different sets of instructions. For now I’ll leave it where it is and see if I’ve left room under the fuel tank if I decide to move it later.
